Matthew Reynolds

Project Engineer

Technical Summary:

Civil Engineer with a background in construction and project management. Air Force veteran, 6 years in the Civil Engineering squadron. Prior to coming on with PEI, I worked at the Cincinnati VA Hospital in the Projects Section as a Project Manager, managing construction projects of various sizes from conception to turnover. This encompassed new construction, renovations/additions, new medical equipment installation, etc.

Personal Summary:

Too many hobbies to mention. I like tinkering on anything that challenges me to find or create a solution. I work on cars/trucks, small, carbureted engines, woodworking, welding, and small construction projects around the house. I also play guitar, like to hike, ski, mountain bike, and go fishing. I’m into a little bit of everything.

Specialties

I currently hold the position of Project Engineer. I worked my way up from the bottom, did construction while active duty in the Air Force, more akin to superintendent experience once making staff sergeant and becoming a first line supervisor. I learned how to perform quantity takeoffs, track budgets, scheduling/manpower, reading and interpreting engineering/architectural drawings, and how to build from the ground up from footings to finish. Though I have an engineering degree, I tend to take a more hands-on approach which gives me a unique perspective as I understand the design decisions but also how to implement this practically in the real world.
